Paris in August

 In Common

Hi

I wanted to share today, something I always found unusual about a tourist city like Paris.

You may be aware that school holidays, here in France start in July and ends in September.

This is summer, best period of the year to find sun here.

Then Frenchpeople  think of summer holidays, they think of  beaches and “bronzette”. August is the month when all Parisians leave Paris to the Mediterranean coasts. So when you walk in Paris in the first 2 weeks of August, you might be surprised.

Surprised by the fact that the heart of France is not crowded, that the metro runs almost empty, by the fact there a beach in the flank of the river Seine where tourist and whose who are on not on leave, are sunbathing or by the fact that some local shops, bakeries & patisseries and restaurants are closed for annual leave, even whose around tourists places sometimes.

Often in August, Paris is animated with different events to keep the city alive, and especially for tourists like you, so they can enjoy Paris at their own pace.

Don’t get me wrong, for tourists (and for ApnaParis.com team), August is a perfect period to visit Paris.

You will still have to queue to visit the Eiffel tower, or Museums, or taste French “Art de vivre” and eat whatever you want. . You will just find less stressed  Parisians during that month but it won’t make your stay less exciting.

Hope you will enjoy
